die Wogen über die Ergebnisse der GK - Herbstsitzung schlagen im meinem Umfeld doch eher hoch.
Ich habe mich dazu bisher zurückgehalten und lediglich Infos dazu weitergeleitet. Erstaunlicherweise kommt die Empörung eher aus den männlichen Reihen, was ich als unterstützend empfinde - die Frauen sagen eher resigniert, dass das ja wohl zu erwarten war… Sowohl die negativen Meinungen als auch Resignation kann ich verstehen.
Daher habe ich das Anliegen bzw. möchte den Vorschlag machen, dass wir uns hier zumindest im deutschsprachigen Raum mit der EUD abstimmen, wie wir mit beidem umgehen wollen, auch um als Frauenbeauftragte Loyalität zur Kirche zu bewahren, andererseits auch, weil ich glaube, dass man das von offizieller Seite nicht unkommentiert vorbeiziehen lassen sollte, während sich noch aufgeregt wird. Wie erlebst Du das insgesamt?
Ich wurde mich sehr freuen, wenn seitens der GK /EUD WM ein Statement dazu käme, dass Verständnis für die kritische Sicht auf das Geschehen zeigt, aber gleichzeitig vielleicht das große Ganze aufzeigt und damit motivierend und von Zuversicht geprägt ist.

Liebe Freundinnen und Freunde
nach dem was vor wenigen Tagen an der Herbstsitzung der Generalkonferenz der Siebenten-Tags-Adventisten vorgefallen ist (Verweigerung der Wahlfähigkeit von Frauen in das Leitungsamt einer Vereinigung) habe ich heute eine wunderbare "Predigt in Briefform" gehört, die Margot Käßmann niedergeschrieben hat.
Ihr findet den vollen Wortlaut im Anhang als pdf File.
Ich wünschte mir, dass alle deutschsprachigen Frauenbeauftragte bei der nächsten Zugangsmöglichkeit zu einer Predigt (im Gottesdienst) diese "Predigt in Briefform" der Gemeinde verkünden könnten. Dies wäre eine winzigeWiedergutmachung für die schwere seelische Verletzung, die Ted N.C. Wilson mit seiner ausführlich vorgetragenen Gegenposition zur Zulassung von Frauen als Vereinigungsvorsteher (*), vielen adventistischen Christen verursacht hat. Er wird sich dafür nie entschuldigen.

C’est super qu’ils fassent aussi une journée hommes adventistes,
Car comme me le disaient un homme non Adventiste de l’église: si il y a seulement un sabbat de la femme SDA et pas un sabbat de l’homme SDA, cela n’est pas équilibré, au contraire, cela veut dire : tous les sabbat c’est de l’homme et un seul de la femme, mais si on faisait aussi un sabbat de l’homme cela rééquilibrerait les choses… j’ai trouvé sa remarque très pertinente. Donc je salue avec joie l’initiative de Christian Frei à ce sujet…

Why Am I a Feminist?

Why am I a feminist?
Because I am a woman
and because I enjoy being a woman
as a result of the hard work of feminists before me
Feminists of the past enabled me
to get a good education
to vote
to have a voice in the assembly halls of my community
my state, my nation
to be able to work and earn my living
to no longer be considered as property
to know women who are scientists and artists
lawyers and doctors, diplomats and professors.
My grandmothers couldn't.
Why am I a feminist?
Because I join hands and work with women and men today who
dream of the day when women will be able
to be paid equal pay for equal work
to be included in the Constitution of the United States
(not just Amendment XIX)
to be given an equal voice in our churches, our schools,
and our homes
to no longer be expected to do all the serving
and only the serving
to be allowed to follow God's call
even when that call is to speak, to teach, to lead.
Why am I a feminist?
Because I join with women and men of the past, of today, and of
the future who dream of the day when all people will be able
to live lives free from poverty
free from violence
free from hatred
free from despair and fear
to know what it is like to live
with peace and compassion
instead of war and domination
with love and joy
instead of anger and dismay.
I have a full, happy life.
But the majority of people in the world do not.
I am a Christian feminist because I want to keep passing on
the rich, bountiful gifts that have been given to me
by God and by those who have faithfully lived out the
Good News.
I am a Christian feminist because the organized church
has carelessly thrust women
into soul-bending, spirit-crushing, ungodly mold
that makes it nigh impossible
to dream the dreams and see the visions
that God has for us all.
I dream and work for the day
when saying I'm a Christian
will say it all.
But until then,
I am a Christian feminist.

Please, ask for the introduction of a 50% law, regarding the presence of women in our commissions and adventist boards.
You represent 73% of all adventists Denise...
It helps a lot against conservative and ultraliberal positions...and adds wisdom to our way of thinking...
Talk with your colleagues of the other Divisions, in particular the TED Division...
